SCRIPT 1:

My name is __________ and I’m a resident of __________. I’m calling to demand that Macomb County drop the outrageous, racist, and politically-motivated charges against protestors in Shelby Township. All the charges – the traffic tickets, the misdemeanors, and especially the felonies should be dropped. Pursuing these charges sends a message that people don’t have a right to call out racism in government, and demand change to address it. Prosecutor Lucido, be a leader of ALL of Macomb County and send a clear message that Shelby Township cannot use the law to silence the movement for Black and Brown Lives!

SCRIPT 2:

My name is __________ and I’m a resident of __________. I am calling to demand that Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido drop charges against Black Lives Matter protestors being charged in Shelby Township. The storming of the U.S. Capitol has become a national disgrace because it revealed the hypocrisy and bias police have between the movement for Trump and Black Lives Matter. Such biases and differential treatment need to be condemned by all elected officials both in words and deeds. You can do that by dropping charges against BLM protestors arrested in Shelby Township. Will you send a message that protest and dissent on behalf of Black and Brown lives are welcomed in Shelby Township, or will you allow for separate and unequal treatment of people by Shelby Township police stand?
