Event by Change is ComingDarmii Rivera and Fred Lambert

Online: us05web.zoom.us

On March 13, 2020 the nation was deprived of another innocent soul. On March 13, 2021, we are coming together to celebrate the life of Breonna Taylor by declaring March 13 “Breonna Taylor Day.” Various groups are hosting solidarity rallies on March 13, 2021.

As part of Breonna Taylor Day, there will be events in cities in Wisconsin and Ohio These solidarity rallies will celebrate the life, joy and love of Breonna. Though we never knew her personally, the loss of her life has motivated us to stand up, speak out, and fight for real change.

We are reaching out to you to see if you or your organization would be interested in organizing a solidarity rally in your city as part of Breonna Taylor Day on March 13. If you are interested, we will be hosting a Zoom call (info below).

We will be demanding for BreonnaTaylor’s law to be pass throughout the United States and we will be demanding to keep her name going and staying strong and united together as we come together on this event in this awareness

Chicago, March 13, 2021: Breonna Taylor Memorial & March “Say Her Name”

Federal Plaza, 219 S Dearborn, Chicago, IL – 12 NOON

Event by Tikkun Chai Inter-NationalChicago Activist Coalition For Justice

The killing of Breonna Taylor, a black woman who was shot in her Louisville home by US police in March – has resonated around the world, with protesters demanding that the public “say her name”.On 23 September, one officer – Brett Hankison – was charged, not with Ms Taylor’s death but with “wanton endangerment” for firing into a neighbour’s apartment. Two other officers who were involved have not been charged. Ben Crump, lawyer from the Taylor family, said the fact that no charges had been brought in direct relation to the killing was “outrageous and offensive”.

Event by Koya Cgh

1000 N 8th Street, Sheboygan, WI – 3-5 P.M.

SOCIAL DISTANCING, SO DON’T LET THAT BE YOUR EXCUSE. The town of Sheboygan needs to be reignited, y’all need to be reminded what it means to step up and be a part of change. To push for change, support change in a way that you directly use your voice and action to be part of community change. Remind y’all, What the point of the protests heard around the world was plus what it was meant to establish. We are a smaller town and have so much more capability to create change, why aren’t we?

Feb. 27, 2021 (Online) Sustainable Saturday Night – Building Unity for a Just Budget

Saturday, Feb. 27 – 6pm – Sustainable Saturday Night – Building Unity for a Just Budget Share on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/457305152119171

Join the largest number of groups ever to work together on the state budget. Help plan what we need to do over the next four months to overcome major racial and economic inequities. Wisconsin was once the leader for progressive income taxes supporting public education and local infrastructure. But since 2010 this state has almost abandoned family farmers, has increased mass incarceration, has refused to accept expanded Medicaid, and has slashed state aid to public schools.

At this Sustainable Saturday Night, Hon. Judge Everett Mitchell, Pastor of Christ the Solid Rock Baptist Church will moderate a panel of Wisconsin leaders working for an equitable state budget that serves the common good of Wisconsinites:

  • Rabbi Bonnie Margulis, Executive Director of WI Faith Voices for Justice
  • Dr. Peter Bakken, Justice and Witness Coordinator of WI Council of Churches
  • Min. Wendell Harris, President of NAACP WI State Conference of Branches
  • Jon Peacock, Director of WI Budget Project, Research Director of Kids Forward
  • Justice Peche, Oneida Nation Member and Youth Climate Action Team Leader
  • Dr. Robert Kraig, Executive Director of Citizen Action of Wisconsin
  • Mike McCabe, Executive Director of Our Wisconsin Revolution

After our panelists share their perspectives, participants will get the opportunity to break into small groups to explore ways that we can all take a part in this movement for a just budget.
