Hello, my name is __, I am a Wisconsin resident demanding that you impose another eviction moratorium for at least the duration of the pandemic or until December 31, 2021. We are calling on you to cancel rent and mortgages until the end of 2021. This would allow working-class renters, especially women and Black and Brown community members, along with struggling small businesses and homeowners, to live day to day without the threat of eviction or foreclosure. To prevent further evictions in the future, we demand divestment from our bloated police budget and prison system and rather to invest in safe, secure housing so that no one ever has to face the prospect of homelessness.
Evictions are inhumane and are a public health crisis that can be avoided if we act now!
