The event will be a virtual rally streamed live over Facebook and You Tube from 11:00 am-12:30 pm EST.Due to the surge in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations, we have decided to hold the event virtually again for the second year in a row.

The event comes at a time of rising uncertainty and social crises in the United States and the world. Racism and racist violence are on the increase and is fueling the attacks on voting rights, housing security and quality education.Environmental racism and rapid degradation of the planet is now a primary issue for all social justice activists.

In Detroit and its environs, thousands of homes have been flooded and permanently damaged while the corporate-oriented City administration, state and federal governments have failed to provide adequate relief to the hundreds of thousands impacted.

On an international level the Pentagon is continuing its war drive throughout Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe. Despite the defeat of the U.S. military in Afghanistan, Pentagon troops remain in their bases across the globe. We demand the ending of the Pentagon budget and the funding of peoples’ needs, not war and exploitation. Dr. King’s legacy encompasses all of these concerns. We must organize, mobilize and struggle vigorously for the eradication of all of these injustices taking place in the U.S.
