We are all “Treaty People” bound to upholding our nation’s commitments laid out in these treaties. We are all needed now to stop Line 5 and the insanity of expanding the fossil fuel infrastructure.

We are supporting Indigenous Leaders

To the best of our abilities, we are striving for balance by doing our parts, supporting Indigenous leaders, and not taking over with dominating colonizer patterns. 

Please come to this event with a humble, generous, and receptive heart.  

*** We expect all participants to meet one or both of these conditions before you join us:

1. Be vaccinated for COVID-19, or

2. Be negative for a COVID-19 test taken no earlier than Friday, Aug. 5, 2022.

We also expect that you are symptom-free, not feeling any sicker than you usually do, and that you read and adhere to our COVID protocols. Please bring a mask for times that you may be inside or in large outdoor groups.

*** Treaty People Convergence participants are expected to be as self-sufficient as possible. If you want to share food in our potluck meals, please contribute as generously as you are comfortably able. There will be enough for everyone.

*** Traveling in large groups comes with risks, especially during the COVID pandemic. All participants will be expected to sign this waiver/intake form, which releases all Treaty People Convergence groups, organizers, and fellow participants from any liability for any illness or injury incurred or perceived to have been incurred during the Treaty People Convergence.

*** Above all things, we ask that you be kind to yourself and radiate kindness to all other beings that you encounter. We will likely encounter people who don’t understand or share our commitment to honoring treaties and protecting our sacred waters, land, and sky. Regardless of how they might express themselves, let us be as compassionate, humble, and loving as we can be in all of our interactions. This convergence is not about trying to shame, or change anyone. We are offering invitations for collaboration and partnership. This weekend is about deepening our community and connections.  We are finding our fellow lovers of Earth and building the depth and trust needed to continue our resistance.

Building Unity and our partners are very grateful to the R.I.S.E.
