Community groups, individuals, and labor unions will come together and plot our next steps to not just save labor and delivery for the south side of Milwaukee, but to build a better hospital for all of us. Join us!

Just 2 days before Christmas, Ascension chose to close the Labor and Delivery department at St. Francis, which was the only Labor and Delivery department on the south side of Milwaukee. Ascension chose to close this vital service with no input from patients, the unionized staff, the community, or even providers in the hospital. We will come together to fight to save this service at our hospital and to fight for the kind of healthcare facility that our community deserves. Ascension has nearly $18 billion in reserves. Meanwhile, St. Francis Hospital is a special place, and it could be even better if Ascension chooses to invest its billions into our community.
