Milwaukee, Wisconsin: Community Organizing Wins 48 Hour and 15-day policy for Releasing Police Body Camera Footage

Milwaukee, WI March 21, 2023.

The Fire and Police Commission voted April 20, 2023 that the Milwaukee Police Department (MPD), now has to release all footage of police critical incidents to the victims families within 48 hours and a public release of videos in 15 days. No exceptions. Statement and more coming soon. This win is the result of years of community organizing in Milwaukee. – The MPD has already filed a lawsuit in an attempt to have this new policy take effect.
