We would like to thank all of those who have responded to our call for support to demand freedom for the Santa Marta Water Defenders and respect for the mining prohibition in El Salvador. The response has been great, over 20 actions in nine different countries have been confirmed and a few others are still in the works. The actions have extended from April 18 to May 3rd so far, and are being organized by allied organizations and concerned individuals around the world who have known the work ADES and the community of Santa Marta and understand that the current criminalization of its members is politically motivated and it is intended to send a message to the wider antimining movement.
