Young America’s Foundation (YAF), a co-sponsor of the RNC debate in Milwaukee, is a right-wing outreach organization that promotes capitalism, racism and anti-LGBTQ and anti-women policies. YAF opposes safety and other regulations, Black Lives Matter, just immigration policies and environmental regulations. YAF is adamantly opposed to unions and worker’s rights. YAF is pro-war and supports the U.S. war machine.1 YAF’s projects include Young Americans for Freedom, the National Journalism Center, and the Reagan Ranch. 2

Young America’s Foundation is an associate member of the State Policy Network, a coalition of capitalist state-level policy organizations. 3 Ben Shapiro is a recipient and supplicant of this network.

YAF – its leaders groomed by the likes of Wisconsin capitalists Sheldon Lubar and Michael Grebe – is funded directly and indirectly by the Milwaukee-based billion dollar Bradley Foundation: https://www.commondreams.org/views/2020/07/15/bradley-foundation-bankrolled-right-wing-reopen-effort-despite-rising-coronavirus

Documents Reveal a Powerful, Secretive Foundation’s Blueprint for Spreading Right-Wing Ideology, State by State

Young Americans for Freedom was founded in 1960 as a conservative student organization with the help of National Review founder William F. Buckley, Jr. In 1962, Ronald Reagan, at the time a former Screen Actors Guild union president and conservative political activist, joined the YAF National Advisory Board and eventually became YAF’s Honorary National Chairman. 4 In 2011, Young America’s Foundation and Young Americans for Freedom merged under the Young America’s Foundation banner. 5

University Information Services (UIS) was founded in 1969 at Vanderbilt University and was later renamed Young America’s Foundation in 1971. YAF’s primary goal was to bring conservative speakers to college campuses nationwide. In 1974, YAF began its sponsorship of a nationally syndicated radio program featuring then-Governor Ronald Reagan (R-CA). 6

In 1998, YAF acquired the Reagan Ranch, former President Reagan’s California home. In 2001, the National Journalism Center, a training program for right-leaning aspiring journalists, merged into Young America’s Foundation. 7

Ben Shapiro also receives major funding from the fascist-like Turning Point USA, also funded in part by the right-wing Bradley Foundation. https://www.rightwingwatch.org/
