6/11/2026 UPDATE ON FBI ARRESTS AND RAIDES — URGENT AID NEEDED:

While we continued to fight for Palestine liberation on campus, On June 10th between 7:00 AM and 8:30 AM, FBI agents, state police, local police officers, and the University of Michigan Police Department, conducted a coordinated raid and arrest of 8 activists across Ann Arbor, Canton, Milwaukee, and Chicago.

The FBI and local police violently raided all of the major locations with the Ypsilanti location’s doors and windows being damaged. Personal belongings of the targeted residents were also seized during the final examinations.

By 5:00 PM EST, out of the 8 defendants, 3 were released on bond and now 5 are still in custody until their Detention Hearing on June 12th at 1:00 PM. These charges are both reprehensible and have clearly shown the federal government and the University’s goal to preserve their ability to support Israel and both its continued genocide in Palestine, Lebanon, and its war with Iran.

As this is a long standing fund started over a year ago, we currently do not have the aforementioned 74,000 dollars as 06/12/2026 8:31AM EST.

As noted in our original fundraiser, urgently needed funds will be used for legal costs, defense campaign costs, mutual aid for activists facing charges (replacements for stolen devices, fixing the police’s vandalism of their homes, emergency relief, food, necessities, etc.), and filling the jailed defendant’s commissary for calls. Thank you for your continued support.

4/25/2025 UPDATE ON FBI RAIDS & MORE:

While we continue to navigate the ongoing charges against the Encampent 11 and Festifall 4, on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM, FBI agents, Michigan state police, and local police officers in unmarked vehicles unconducted coordinated raids at the homes of University of Michigan pro-Palestine activists across Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, and Canton.

None of the warrants presented by law enforcement listed probable cause. At the Ypsi location, officers refused to provide a serach warrant and forced entry into the residence, breaking their front door. FBI and local police violently raided all three locations and seized personal belonging of targeted residents during final examinations. 8 individuals were detained during the raid and released. Like the Encampent 11, the warrants were all issued by Attorney General Dana Nessel.

One day later, at a court hearing for the Encapment 11, one of the defendents was sent to the Washtenaw County Jail for 4 days for violation of bond conditions. These conditions ban them from UM campus with the exception of attending their classes. Amdist the student’s finals and commencement activities, the student is currently spending 4 nights in jail, and will be released Sunday morning. The student’s alleged violation is for being in Mason Hall between classes.

As noted in our original fundraiser, urgently needed funds will be used for legal costs, defense campaign costs, mutual aid for activists facing charges (replacements for stolent devices, fixing the police’s vandalism of their homes, emergency relief, food, necessities, etc.), and filling the jailed defendent’s commissary for calls. Thank you for your continued support.

On September 12, the office of Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced that they are filing criminal charges against 11 students and grad workers for their alleged involvement during the police raid on the University of Michigan encampment on May 21 and a separate protest in April.

All the while, the University of Michigan has violently arrested other pro-Palestine activists on August 28th, during the University of Michigan’s Festifall where protestors were peacefully bringing to light the University’s complicity in genocide.

The actions by the Attorney General and the University of Michigan show the growing push to silence pro-Palestine activism since October 7th. Regents have made abundantly clear that their goal is to preserve their ability to support Israel and its genocide, and they are willing to abuse any and all of their powers to do so.

We are opening this fundraiser to raise funds for the 11 brave activists that were charged during the May 21st raid and for the other pro-Palestine activists at the University of Michigan fighting for a better world. Funds will be used for legal costs, defense campaign costs, mutual aid for activists facing charges (emergency relief, food, necessities, etc.). As before, your contribution to this legal fund can help ensure that voices speaking out for justice on campus are not intimidated into silence.

Any funds not used in defense of the campus activists after all charges are dealt with will be allocated to a legal defense fund for activism for social and economic justice across the University of Michigan.
