| On Wednesday, June 24, two powerful earthquakes struck Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, as well as La Guaira and Carabobo. The death toll from the earthquake continues to rise—as of June 26, over 900 people have been reported dead and thousands injured. The US Geological Survey states that there is a 42% probability of between 10,000 and 100,000 deaths.
