Iran warned that any US attack on its nuclear or other sensitive facilities would trigger a powerful regional response targeting American interests, as well as those of Washington’s allies and supporters.
Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said late Tuesday that such an attack would be treated as an expansion of the war across the Middle East and would prompt broader military operations by the Iranian armed forces.
The warning came after US President Donald Trump threatened to strike the underground Pickaxe Mountain facility near Iran’s Natanz nuclear complex.
Trump said Washington would hit the site “very heavily,” suggesting that Iran may have moved centrifuges there, while acknowledging that the United States had no confirmation.
New Strikes on US Military
Hours after the warning, the Iranian Army announced a new wave of drone attacks on US military facilities in Jordan and Bahrain.
The Army said Arash drones struck housing and welfare buildings used by US forces at Al-Azraq Air Base in Jordan, along with equipment warehouses inside the installation.
The operation formed part of the 22nd phase of Operation Saegheh.
Iran also announced strikes on Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain, saying Arash drones targeted large equipment depots and facilities used for the maintenance and repair of heavy aircraft.
The Army dedicated the latest phase of the operation to the people of southern Iran, saying its forces would remain steadfast “until final victory.”
