Freedom Inc – This Black August in Madison feels incredibly heavy and personal. It has been nearly two weeks since the Madison Police Department murdered Corey Ruiz on the same street they murdered Tony Robinson in 2015.
Black people deserve to be free, not fearing for their lives from the state, not being punished and pushed through the carceral system for fighting back.
Join us this week as we demand:
-Arrest the killer cop
-Defund the police
-Strengthen the Police Civilian Oversight Board (PCOB)
-MPD must hand over all evidence to the Office of the Independent Police Monitor
-And finally, community control over the police!
