This Saturday, the Free the 350 Bail Fund bailed out 16 more people from the Dane County Jail, including two of our comrades who were violently arrested by MPD while fighting for justice for Corey Ruiz and demanding police accountability.
And while we were getting our people free, jail administration literally shut off the money machines so we couldn’t put money on people’s books. They would rather block people from receiving money for basic necessities than allow the community to show up, organize, and care for our own.
Incarceration is designed to isolate people, punish poverty, and break community ties. We are going to keep showing up. Keep getting people free. Keep putting resources directly into our people’s hands.
