Thank you to Melon Books for the opportunity to share community space to go deeper into anti-zionism. A few months ago, we connected with Melon Books about concerns we had over an event taking place in their bookstore that platformed zionism. We are exceptionally grateful they took our concerns seriously, heard us out, and have committed to taking action to learn more themselves and to help our community learn, too. Their response should serve as an example to other individuals, organizations, and businesses confronting zionism in their spaces.
The nature of zionism is to present itself as a neutral ideology, but we know the insidious way zionists manipulate well-intentioned people to normalize their destructive ideology. Zionism is embedded so deeply in society that the average Mo doesn’t know what to look for. This teach-in is providing a space for curious & committed minds to take a deeper dive into how we identify and root out zionism from our communities. Our goal is to innoculate our community members from the virus of zionism.
