Chicago-based FIRST HOSPITALITY has been chosen to operate Madison’s new Historian Hotel, scheduled to open in early 2027.

When workers at the Hampton Inn Majestic hotel in Chicago organized their union in 2017, First Hospitality’s union-busting tactics included telling Latina housekeepers that they could buy DIAPERS and TEQUILA with the money they would have spent on union dues.

First Hospitality workers and their allies are calling on the Historian Hotel’s owners, including Eric and Steven Hovde, to sign an agreement to ensure that First Hospitality can’t disrespect Madison hotel workers the same way. Join us!
