Brian Niccol says Starbucks is getting “back to coffee.” What’s actually happening says otherwise.
While Niccol’s out here talking up simplicity and craft, Starbucks keeps cranking out Unicorn Frapp sequels, seasonal sugar bombs, and limited releases, all extra work dumped on baristas who are understaffed, underpaid, and still don’t have a contract. Meanwhile, hundreds of unresolved labor violations keep piling up. And when the AI inventory tool (the one that was supposed to fix supply issues) started causing chaos instead 
, Starbucks’ response wasn’t to invest in workers. It was more promos and more noise.

Call it what it is: distraction. 
The real news is that Starbucks is the biggest violator of labor law in modern history, according to the NLRB. More than 400 violations found to have been committed by NLRB judges. Over 140 have already been ruled on by the NLRB itself. That’s not a slip-up. That’s the business model.
Fair contract or no coffee, your call, Starbucks. Until then, the boycott continues. This fight moves faster with you in it. Thank you for showing up!
