Join us for a program on Cuban & US approaches to health care, featuring two graduates of ELAM, Cuba’s international medical school. Dr. Alexandra Skeeter and Dr. Alexander Ruiz are physicians who received their medical education at the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM) in Havana, Cuba. Learn about Cuba’s free, universal, prevention-oriented medical system, its successes and severe challenges due to the sharply increased US blockade/embargo on Cuba — and of the US attack on Cuba’s health internationalism. Hear how we in the US can offer solidarity and aid to Cubans who are suffering as a result of the US undermining their healthcare system.
