| Dear friend of St. Marys & Dean nurses, 340 nurses at 10 SSM Dean outpatient clinics throughout Dane County have voted overwhelmingly to form a union so we have the strongest voice for quality patient care! Dean nurses are now united with almost 900 nurses SSM St. Mary’s Hospital who voted to unionize by a landslide in June, the largest private sector union election in recent state history. The support of community members like you has been key to these historic victories, and we thank you with all our hearts. We are building a movement of nurses, patients and community members to take on the corporatized healthcare system. Now, we need your continued support. Please ask your friends and family to sign our petition and share it on your social media: stmdnursesunited.org/support |

St. Mary’s nurses have filed official charges against SSM for violating our freedom and rights by threatening us, spreading misleading propaganda, destroying our union information and refusing to start negotiations. We’re demanding that SSM executives stop breaking federal labor law and immediately start negotiating a contract with urgent solutions to the crisis of understaffing, burnout and loss of experienced nurses.
You can check out some of the recent press coverage of Dean nurses’ election on ABC 27 and the WI Examiner. In coming weeks, we’ll be launching a series of actions to hold SSM executives accountable to invest their huge profits in quality care for our community. We’ll send you details soon, and your support is critical to ensuring that patients’ needs – not corporate greed – come first!
In Unity,
St. Mary’s & Dean Nurses United
