Shut down LINE 5!

The WI DNR has stepped up from a “request” to the Canadian Fossil Fuel Pipeline Corporations, Enbridge, asking they do a “better job” of preventing damages to the waters of Wisconsin on the Enbridge Line 5 construction project in the Bad River Watershed of Lake Superior. The WI DNR has now issued an Enforcement Order to Enbridge. This teleconference is scheduled for TODAY, Monday Oct 26 at 1 PM.

According to the Enforcement Order citing violations (https://dnr.wisconsin.gov/newsroom/release/131246), “After the enforcement conference, the DNR can take additional enforcement action that can include issuing citations and referring the case to the Wisconsin Department of Justice for prosecution to seek forfeitures and other court-ordered remedies.”

*** ACTION ALERT – Call to Governor Evers (608-266-1212) and DNR Secretary Hyun (608-266-2252). Demand accountability of Enbridge.

Enbridge has deep pockets and any fine is simply a slap on the wrist. As the Wisconsin officials with the Constitutional responsibility/authority under the Public Trust Doctrine, and in the provisions of the current DNR permit, Gov. Evers and Sec. Hyun should take action to WITHDRAW the Permit.

As concerned citizens we have the right to expect that the permits be withdrawn!!!
