Attention sherman ave and maple bluff residents!
you may have noticed the three flock cameras on sherman avenue and N sherman. They are not approved or managed by the city of Madison, they were approved by the Village of Maple Bluff Village Council, which has its own police.
flock cameras use 24/7 surveillance and AI recognition to track license plates. The data is accessible to law enforcement without a warrant.
the Maple Bluff Village Board appoints its own officials to serve on the board. They meet on the first Tuesday of every month at 7:30pm at 18 Oxford Pl. The next meeting is Tuesday, November 3rd. This small group of people who you did not elect consented to flock cameras in your neighborhood on your behalf.
if you have concerns about these invasive cameras, consider coming to the Village Board meeting to voice them on November 3rd!
