Workers of the World Help the Milwaukee Brewers Win the World Series Championship!

Milwaukee Brewers Win World Series

Milwaukee Brewers are the World Series Champions after beating the Tampa Bay Rays. As with everything, workers were a fundamental part of the entire process.

Over the course of the 162 game season where the Brewers had their most wins in franchise history, the playoffs and the World Series games, thousands of workers nationwide (and beyond) made the Brewers championship possible. The diversity of these workers is thoroughly international.

These workers include: The multinational union players with the Major League Baseball Players Association (many from working class families worldwide), the umpires who are union members with the Major League Baseball Umpires Association and General Workers and Office Cleaners at the Milwaukee Stadium with the union Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Wisconsin.

Many other workers union and unorganized, paid and volunteer, made the championship possible including drivers, pilots, flight attendants, baggage handlers, hotel workers, communications, announcers, runners, the electricians, the carpenters, grounds crews, trainers, medical personnel, cleaners, the workers that made the products consumed at the stadium and made the team gear, loaded and shipped that and much more. Many of these workers are of numerous nationalities, immigrants, LGBQIA and women as are the fans.

William Contreras of Puerto Cabello, Venezuela, hoists his Most Valuable Player (MVP) trophy. He became the seventh-ever catcher to be named World Series Most Valuable Player.
