David Hunt was in his senior year of high school at the Milwaukee School of Languages and was a passionate youth leader with ‘YES’, the youth branch of Voces de la Frontera. Those who knew him describe him as charmingly goofy, compassionate, and committed to social justice.
Today, we honor David Hunt, a YES leader at MSL, a friend, and a valued part of our YES family.
David was passionate about speaking up for others and fighting for social change. From leading his school’s walkout against ICE to showing up at countless events, he never hesitated to speak his mind. He brought humor, honesty, and heart into every space he entered.
At YES, we fight for our futures. We are heartbroken that David won’t get to see the future he helped fight for or witness the impact his leadership and voice made.
We will carry his spirit, his laughter, and his commitment to the movement with us.
Our deepest condolences to his family, friends, the MSL community, and our YES family.

David era apasionado por alzar la voz por los demás y luchar por el cambio social. Desde liderar el paro estudiantil de su escuela contra ICE hasta estar presente en incontables eventos, nunca dudó en decir lo que pensaba. Llevó humor, honestidad y corazón a cada espacio.
En YES luchamos por nuestro futuro. Nos duele que David no pueda ver el futuro por el que ayudĂł a luchar, ni el impacto de su liderazgo y su voz.
Llevaremos su espĂritu, su risa y su compromiso con el movimiento.
