http://www.saveamericaspostalservice.org/
A message from the postal unions:
On Tuesday, September 27, from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. (local time), members of the four employee unions of the United States Postal Service—
• American Postal Workers Union
• National Association of Letter Carriers
• National Postal Mail Handlers Union
• National Rural Letter Carriers’ Association
—will join forces with members of our communities to send a message to the nation and its Congress.
During these informational rallies, we will visit the home office of each member of the House of Representatives.
We will thank those members who have signed on as co-sponsors of H.R. 1351, a bill that addresses the financial crisis facing the Postal Service.
And we will encourage those who have not signed as co-sponsors of H.R. 1351 to do so.

Support undocumented youth arrested in North Carolina
From: www.dreamactivist.org
Also: http://www.thedreamiscoming.com/
Of the 10 undocumented youth who were arrested on Tuesday in Charlotte, North Carolina, 3 have been released, 7 remain in jail, and all still face the prospect of deportation. They participated in an act of civil disobedience at Central Piedmont Community College, protesting the discriminatory policies towards undocumented students at community colleges, the criminalization of the undocumented community as a result of programs like 287g and Secure Communities, which is active in 100% of counties in North Carolina, and to hold the Democratic party accountable to their inaction and often supportive hand in perpetuating this current attack on the immigrant community.
Make a $20 donation towards their bail fund.
Mere hours after they were arrested, they were caught in the net of 287g. ICE initiated deportation proceedings and put them on the fast track to being transferred to immigration detention. Coincidentally, the Democratic National Convention was launched the same day in Charlotte. These undocumented youth willingly tested the waters of the recent announcements by the Obama administration, and their fate proves that these announcements are simply of no substance and youth continue to be targeted, detained, and deported every day still.
Will you stand up with these youth and hold this administration accountable?
Then, call the Democratic National Committee at (202) 863-8000 and say “I am calling in solidarity with the North Carolina 7, undocumented youth who were arrested and placed into deportation proceedings on Tuesday in Charlotte. We demand that President Obama stop the lies and put an Immediate END to 287g and Secure Communities Programs. We will not support nor campaign for elected officials that make false promises to our immigrant community yet support programs that criminalize and deport immigrant youth and families. We demand real solutions not empty promises.”
Thank you for taking action,
