About wibailoutpeople

We are a part of the national Bail Out The People movement which formed in 2008 to fight against the bailouts to the banks. Since then we have been in numerous fights against poverty, racism and war. We demand that the people be bailed out not the banks, a moratorium on all foreclosures, a federal jobs program now and other demands. We have been participating in the Wisconsin people's uprising, Bloombergville in NYC and numerous other people's actions.

Demand Congress Pass a Coronavirius Relief Bill That Puts Workers Before Wall Street! Contact the Politicians NOW!

The Senate is debating a Coronavirus relief bill that contains a Republican proposal for a $500 billion corporate slush fund and doesn’t do nearly enough to help and protect those who truly need relief and aid.

Please contact your Senators TODAY (find their contact information here) and tell them to support a plan that will give relief directly to working people, not more bailouts for corporations and Wall Street.

The world is the midst of a once in a century disease pandemic. COVID-19 is a natural phenomenon that is quickly becoming a human disaster.

Join us for a live, on-line forum addressing how capitalism fails to address the public health crisis, brings impending economic disaster for working people, and fuels racist attacks in our communities. Speakers will address the failures of capitalism, in contrast with examples set by the socialist countries, and how our movements can fight back. Some will be available to take questions live.

Speakers Include: FRSO leaders Frank Chapman and Masao Suzuki, and leaders from people’s movements across the U.S.

Live Thursday March 26, 7:00 pm Central / 5:00 pm Pacific

Stand in solidarity with striking ASARCO workers

The COVID-19 (Coronavirus) has plunged our world into crisis. Our USW members on an unfair labor practice strike at Asarco have been living with crisis for months and need our continued support and solidarity.

Since last October, more than 1,700 Steelworkers have been out on an unfair labor practice strike against ASARCO. The company’s proposals included no wage increases for a majority of the workers, doubling the out-of-pocket health care costs, freezing the existing pension plan and more. This is insulting after our brothers and sisters sacrificed to sustain the company during past downturns.

These workers earned and deserve a fair contract with better and more secure earnings, benefits and pensions.

If you agree, show them you’re with them by signing our solidarity pledge at: usw.to/UnityinCopperPledge.

Thanks for your time.

In solidarity,

Tom Conway
USW International President

Tell KKR: Don’t invest in the Coastal GasLink pipeline and respect Indigenous rights now!

Despite the COVID-19 crisis, TC Energy is still going ahead with construction of the Coastal GasLink pipeline and sending more workers and federal police officers onto Wet’suwet’en territories, putting communities at even more risk. Billionaire oil and gas CEOs see the COVID-19 crisis as an opportunity to push through whatever they can when the world is looking the other way.
The Coastal GasLink pipeline threatens Wet’suwet’en land, water, air, and people.
KKR — an NYC private equity firm with an atrocious record of putting profits over people and the environment — is planning to purchase 65% of the Coastal GasLink pipeline with AIMCo this year, giving TC Energy the 600 million dollars it needs to finance the project.
If we #ShutDownKKR, we can stop the Coastal GasLink Pipeline — but we need to mobilize online together. KKR must be held accountable for defying the Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs, wanting to put Indigenous land and people at risk, and fueling the climate crisis.

Message KKR’s top executives and tell them to divest from TCEnergy’s Coastal GasLink pipeline right now.
