Milwaukee, March 19: No Confidence: Christopher Manney Appeal Hearing
EVENT: http://tinyurl.com/olhn4k9
Calling All Concerned Community Members:
Dontre Hamilton was shot 14 times in Red Arrow Park on April 30, 2014 by Milwaukee police officer Christopher Manney. Manny was subsequently fired from the force; however, not for the murder of Dontre, but for violating Hamilton’s constitutional rights by performing an out of policy pat down. The Milwaukee Fire and Police Commission is directly responsible for hearing the appeal of Christopher Manney. We are asking that everyone come out on March 19 to hear this case. This could be a turning point in our city, and we want our city government officials feel our presence. Please join us for this hearing. Space is limited so please get there early. If you have any questions please email us at TheCoalitionForJustice@gmail.com or give us a call at 414.375.9330.

Madison, March 10: Build The People, Not The Jail
EVENT: http://tinyurl.com/ne2xsf4
State Violence manifests in different ways and of those ways is mass incarceration. We must push for justice of all those impacted by state violence.
Come out and Stand with us! Share your voice!!
The Dane County Board Public Protection and Judiciary committee will hold a hearing on Tuesday Match 10th at 5:15 at the City County Building. Young Gifted and Black will hold a rally there at 4:30 pm.
Show up and show out! This is an important time to let your voices be heard!
There is power in numbers. Help us share the vision and demand the Madison of tomorrow.
Will You Stand With Us
If you can’t make it please contact your supervisor and the supervisors on PP&J and Health and Human Needs Committees.
We continue to push for our demands:
1. The county abandon all attempts to expand the capacity of the jail or build a new jail (Black people are disproportionately impacted and jails do nothing to address root causes).
2. The investment into Black led community initiatives (Our solutions should come from us).
3. The immediate release of 350 black people incarcerated due to crimes of poverty (Surviving poverty is not a crime. Poverty itself is the crime).
4. The end of Solitary confinement (it is inhumane and makes mental wellness issues worse).
Please, Stand with Us.

Tell Scott Walker the Wall Street Servant: NO Right-To-Work-For-Less in Wisconsin
From the WI AFL-CIO:
Despite years of saying Right to Work was not his priority and would never get to this desk, Gov. Walker will sign Right to WorkMonday, March 9.
Despite weeks of protest from citizens, business owners and people of faith, Gov. Walker is once again putting his political ambitions ahead of what is best for the people of Wisconsin. By weakening unions, Right to Work lowers wages for everyone, hurts the middle class and depresses down our whole economy. We know that strong unions allow for a strong working class and lift wages and working conditions for everyone in our state.
Email Gov. Walker now and tell him not to sign Right to Work into law.
Right to Work is wrong for Wisconsin. It does not create jobs, but it will lower wages, decrease safety standards and weaken the middle class. In a time when wages are stagnant , income inequality is rising and good jobs are hard to find, right to work is not the policy Wisconsin lawmakers need to advance.
Click here to tell Gov. Walker not to sign the bill into law.
Brothers and sisters, we can be proud of the fight back we accomplished. Thousands of workers, union and non-union, came to Madison to oppose Right to Work. We participated in our democratic process and made our voices heard. Now, we must continue to hold politicians accountable to the people, not to their out-of-state special interest campaign donors.
Forward, together in solidarity,
Phil Neuenfeldt, President
Stephanie Bloomingdale, Secretary-Treasurer
