We will begin marching at 10 AM from the transit center (Liberty Street) to City Hall and rallying on the steps of City Hall (730 Washington Ave Racine, WI 53403).

OCCUPY Milwaukee, Move To Amend of SE Wisconsin, and local Activists see all too clearly Anti-Women, Anti-Worker, and Racist legislation being implemented by current GOP governors. The fact that Scott Walker, (now Chairman of the National Governors Association), is hosting this year’s Governors Conference gives evidence to the direction that they want to see the USA devolve.
We perceive the agenda of state Governors is to use ALEC’s model legislation to subvert the power of the Federal government and in turn give themselves more power to create public-private partnerships that operate like corporatized feifdoms. Under the ALEC-based government model people could be ruled by fear and lots of guns, economic immobility, with murky divisions between church and state… This ALEC-based agenda shifts money, economic control, natural resources, reproductive rights, educational base, our Personhood, voting powers from The People instead giving power/rights to fossil-fuel-driven industrial interests and mineral/chemical production companies…
This we protest. More Power to the People!

Sunday, July 21 we will rally again at the MLK Statue on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive near Vine Street in Milwaukee for the second week in a row. 6 p.m.
We will rally in response to the failure of the justice system to hold George Zimmerman or MPD accountable for their murders of Trayvon Martn and Derek Williams respectively. We are also marching to demand justice be served in the murders of two other Black youth in Milwaukee, Darius Simmons (13), who was killed by a white vigilante, and Corey Stingley (16), who was strangled by three white men who were “detaining” him for suspected theft.

At least 1,000 multinational protesters converged on the Federal Courthouse today (July 20) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The crowd took up the entire block and street in front of the courthouse. A delegation from the Latino/a youth organization Youth Empowered in the Struggle (YES) marched from Red Arrow Park a few blocks away to the courthouse in a statement of Black and Brown Unity.
