Rally & March for Justice for Trayvon & Bo Morrison

Tuesday, April 10, 4 pm

Dr. Martin Luther King Statue at MLK Dr. & Walnut St.

Join us as our Milwaukee community gathers to rally against the senseless deaths of Trayvon Martin in Florida, Bo Morrison here in West Bend and victims of Milwaukee police brutality. We will rally at Dr. King’s statue on MLK Dr. for a program of community speakers at 4 pm and then march to the 5th District Police Station at 4th and Locust, arriving around 6 pm.

Our Coalition for Justice demands:

–       Prosecution of the killers of Trayvon Martin and Bo Morrison

–       Abolishment of racist vigilante laws

–       Ending attacks on communities of color

–       Establishment of a Milwaukee Police Department Civilian Review Board

April 10 is the first day of the grand jury for George Zimmerman, Trayvon’s killer. For this reason, actions have been called to demand Zimmerman be arrested and indicted. We join with similar actions across the country in New York City, Los Angeles and Baltimore and many other cities.

Last Friday, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi Pillay, called for an immediate investigation into the killing of 17 year old Trayvon Martin.

‘The US has seen sudden increase in ongoing racial killings’

The United States has undoubtedly witnessed a rise in ‘racial violence and tensions,’ an analyst tells Press TV, referring to the series of young African American males killed in the US.

The comment comes as outrage has climbed among the African-American communities across the United States as more black American citizens fall victim to suspicious and apparently racial shootings.

Following Friday’s killings of three more African-Americans in north Tulsa, Oklahoma, community leaders in the northern part of the city, where the shootings took place, described the incidents as “hate crimes.”

Dannaer Fields, 49, Bobby Clarke, 54, and 31-year-old William Allen were killed and two other African-Americans suffered injuries in separate early morning shootings in what is widely perceived as racially-motivated attacks.

Press TV has conducted an interview with Director of PAN African news wire, Abayomi Azikiwe to shed more light on the issue.
