EMERGENCY: Veterans Administration Due Process Bill Vote is TODAY

AFGE just learned that Congress is rushing a vote TODAY to allow VA management to fire any employee with no due process whatsoever.

Call your Senator TODAY at 855-976-5397 from your personal phone (never your government phone) and tell them: protect my due process rights and vote NO on S. 1082.

S. 1082 would be disastrous for the VA and for other government agencies. It allows VA managers to fire employees without basic rights, extend the probation periods of new employees to 18 months or longer, and leaves veterans, whistleblowers and other targeted employees completely vulnerable. It would devastate the VA’s ability to recruit new staff, leaving the VA unable to provide quality, timely services to our veterans.

If S. 1082 passes and takes away VA workers’ rights, it could pass for any government agency. S. 1082 is a sad excuse for accountability at the VA. That’s why we need your help.

Call your Senator at 855-976-5397 and tell them: protect my due process rights. Please vote NO on S. 1082.

For more information on due process rights and what you can do to protect VA workers, visit our VA Due Process webpage here.

Milwaukee, October 30: Exposing the rapid rise of the far-right in Israel

The Milwaukee chapters of Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and U.S. Palestinian Community Network (USPCN) welcome independent Canadian-Israeli journalist and filmmaker, David Sheen.

His focus for the past five years has been on-the-ground reporting of Israeli incitement to racist violence.

Sheen will describe how top Israeli political and religious leaders use dehumanizing discourse to inspire vigilante attacks toward Palestinians, Africans and other non-Jews,
especially during the 2014 assault on the Gaza Strip.

It will include material that Sheen presented at the Russell Tribunal on Palestine in Brussels, as well as new information never before made public in English.  Q&A will follow.  Please join us for this rare opportunity.
