Egypt army seeks to secure ties with US, Israel: Analyst

In a Thursday interview, Sara Flounders (of the International Action Center, http://iacenter.org/), slammed the Egyptian military’s role in suppressing the public demands in the country, saying, “This is very much an all-out effort by the Egyptian military to drag, forcibly drag, Egypt back to pre-February 2011.”

“They want to be sure that the Camp David Accords are enforced. They want to ensure that relations with Israel and with the US are secure,” she pointed out.

BREAKING: Ten current or recently fired Walmart workers were just arrested in Washington, DC for peaceful civil disobedience near Walmart’s downtown office. This action comes after the company fired or disciplined more than 70 workers for going on strike. Now workers say that if Walmart does not reinstate the illegally fired workers and publicly commit pay a decent wage by Labor Day, the company will face some of the most intense actions it has seen to date.

On Wednesday, August 28, as cities around the country hold Justice For Trayvon Martin Assemblies, we will march for jobs and justice from Beattie Park to the Federal Courthouse in downtown Rockford (Illinois). Once we get to the courthouse we will have a speak-out highlighting the issues we face in Rockford and around the country.

Gathering at Beattie Park (401 N Main St) and marching to the Federal Courthouse (327 S. Court St)
