100% of union members walked out of Aramark La Crosse today in opposition to management’s latest contract proposals.
We are demanding higher wages, paid sick days, and no new wage tiers.
When workers are united and willing to fight, anything is possible.
WALKOUT IN WISCONSIN. Members of UE Local 1121 walked off the job for 45 minutes this morning at Aramark in La Crosse. The job action — the first work stoppage in the local’s more than 20 year history — had 100% participation. Workers are fed up with the way the company has been stalling negotiations and its terrible proposals. They’ve been working without a contract, and today’s work stoppage was to demand that, when the union and company meet again on Wednesday, the company put a decent proposal on the table that can lead to a settlement. The members are demanding wage increases, paid sick days, and saying “no” to the company’s proposal for a third wage tier.
