World Peace Council Statement on recent protest events in Cuba

World Peace Council

The World Peace Council (CMP) expresses serious concern over the recent imperialist plan well-orchestrated and paid to create chaos and disorder in Cuba, using as a pretext the severe shortage of imported goods and other first-need goods as well as cuts of Electricity, facts that have largely its root causes in the almost sixty (60) years of criminal embargo imposed by the US on Cuba. Particularly during the last period and in conditions of the global health pandemic, Cuba is being prevented through new and additional measures and sanctions for the purchase and import of medicines and raw materials for medicines as well as hospital technical inputs.

While recognizing the suffering of the Cuban people, the CMP emphasizes in the strongest way its rejection of interference actions and subversive actions targeting the ′′ regime change ′′ of paid elements and mercenaries as we have observed elsewhere in the World with ′′ Color Revolutions “. The Cuban people know too well that imperialists have never stopped the war on their country, regardless of rotary methods or changing White House residents. These criminal and inhuman policies are being helped by their imperialist allies of the European Union and their agents inside Cuba and Florida who today demanded even open intervention on humanitarian pretext as seen in other cases in countries before.

We denounce the cynical interest of those forces that cause suffering with political and economic sanctions and blockade first and their hypocrisy then for the ′′ poor Cuban people ′′ to whom you have to teach ′′ democracy and human rights “. Particularly Cuba has given lessons in solidarity and dignity many times since the triumph of the Revolution in 1959 onwards, but this latter period during the Covid-19 pandemic, the Island of Revolution has once again defended with its selfless internationalist aid to peoples in need while developing in extremely difficult conditions its own vaccines very quickly with a commitment to also help the poor and oppressed peoples of the world.

We express our outrage at imperialist plans to generate social discontent and target the Cuban sovereign government. The achievements of socialist Cuba are an example and source of inspiration for the peoples of Latin America and the world.

The CMP is in Solidarity with the heroic people of Cuba and their Revolution!

We call for the immediate lifting of the embargo and all sanctions against Cuba!

End of imperialist provocations!

Out of Cuba’s hands!
