From Detroit July 14, 2022: (Online) MTG: Free Mumia, Mutulu Shakur, and all Political Prisoners

Event by Moratorium NOW! Coalition and General Baker Institute

Detroit, July 3, 2022

Please join this Zoom meeting to strengthen Detroit area support to FREE political prisoners Mumia Abu-Jamal, Mutulu Shakur, and our other elders.

This July 14 meeting is our first follow up after the July 3, 2022 Free Mumia March and Rally in Detroit. On July 3rd, responding to the strategic call to action from Love Not Phear, activists in over 40 cities around the world held events to demand Mumia’s freedom after 40 years of injustice.

This meeting is an organizing step to free our elder Political Prisoners – all of whom were targeted, as young activists for their participation in human rights struggles and for being outspoken against racism and imperialism. The U.S. has kept them in prison for many years, subjecting them to medical neglect and elder abuse through the prison system.

Mumia Abu-Jamal has a major court date on Oct 19, 2022 in Pennsylvania. The LoveNotPhear campaign will be focusing next on organizing massive support for this event. There will be a Detroit presence in the courtroom – perhaps you will help organize or be part of that contingent!

Political Prisoner and healer Mutulu Shakur is very ill with bone cancer, exacerbated by prison medical neglect and elder abuse. Please sign this petition for Biden to grant clemency for Mutulu. He needs to go home and be with loved ones for his last days.…/support-parole-and…
