We are a part of the national Bail Out The People movement which formed in 2008 to fight against the bailouts to the banks. Since then we have been in numerous fights against poverty, racism and war. We demand that the people be bailed out not the banks, a moratorium on all foreclosures, a federal jobs program now and other demands. We have been participating in the Wisconsin people's uprising, Bloombergville in NYC and numerous other people's actions.

ILWU Local 10 May Day Resolution

May Day 2012 Resolution

This Resolution is reaffirming a past policy adopted by the Local, February 2007

WHEREAS, since 2005 ILWU Local 10 has been on record for the reclaiming of May Day (International Workers’ Day which commemorates labor’s struggle to gain the 8 (eight) hour work day in the United States; and

WHEREAS, labor is under increasing attack as illustrated by the attempts of EGT in Longview to rupture the jurisdiction of the ILWU Longshore Division; and

WHEREAS, the various state legislative bodies, including but not limited to, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Indiana have enacted or introduced right to work laws; and

WHEREAS, solidarity actions for the 99% (the entire working class) are currently being planned across the country and around the world for May 1, 2012 to challenge the 1% (capital);

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the membership instruct Local 10’s president to convey our intentions to the Pacific Maritime Association of having our stop work meeting on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 9 a.m.; and

THEREFORE BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be sent to all ILWU Longshore locals, the International, and affiliated central labor councils.

Now here’s what you must do: Call Chief Lee at 407-688-5070 and ask why he didn’t arrest Zimmerman immediately based on the facts of this case. Call State Attorney Wolfinger at 321-617-7548 and ask how soon he will file criminal charges based on those and other undisputed facts. Also, call U.S. Attorney Robert O’Neill at 813-274-6000 and ask him how soon he will file civil rights violation charges based on those and other undisputed facts.
